Collection: Reenactment
Nordic Slings started as wraps and slings for Viking reenactments. And it is still close to my heart. Here you will find the slings and coils in my range, which consist exclusively of natural materials known at the time. It is typically linen, wool and silk, which are also produced with a classic weaving method. It can, for example, be canvas or twill weaving. Note that, as far as I know, there are no sources on carrying tools for children from the Viking Age. However, carrying children was widespread throughout the Nordics up to a few hundred years ago, and it is natural to assume that children were carried in the materials that were once available. As a funny anecdote, it can be mentioned that the Nordic "child" (and Scottish bairn) comes from the root "to carry".
