Eik the Acorn is a reweaving of my very first wrap in the Eik pattern. With its excellent diagonal stretch, softness and good balance in thickness, it is a wrap that was a big hit in 2018 and quickly sold out. I have received several requests to weave it again, but it has not been possible - until now. My weavng mill and I got our hands on a remnant of the Italian silk used for the first release of Eik the Acorn. There is therefore also a limited number of approx. 15 pcs.

Here you get a wrap that is suitable for both small and large children. The silk provides a good grip so that it does not move, even with a slightly fast binding. The wrap is relatively loosely woven in a satin weave. The weaving itself provides glide and therefore balances the grip that silk provides. The loose weaving means that the wrap gives diagonally and therefore snuggles around the body.

Silk is naturally temperature-regulating and Eik the Acorn is therefore well suited to you who get hot quickly. The color is midnight blue cotton, combined with golden yellow silk.

Eik means "Oak" in Old Norse, and the design with oak leaves and small acorns symbolizes parents and children - a safe and strong start to life.

__

THE ACORN. In the depths of the forest, one day a small acorn grew from the humble flowers of a mighty oak. The oak tree watched over the acorn with all the strength it could find in its strong branches and showered it with all its love. One day the little acorn fell to the forest floor. Maybe it was carried by a little wood mouse, or maybe it danced with the wind through the leaves of the forest. The acorn fell down and found its place. With all the power it had received, the little acorn sent its young roots down into the bosom of the earth and let its delicate green leaves unfold. The little tree stretched itself against the warmth of the sun and drew nourishment from the cool drops of the rain.

Slowly the little tree grew bigger. The fighting with the tall grass for space in the sun's glare. Deer nibbled at its leaves, and the hare's teeth found their way to its bark. But year after year the tree was a little taller, a little stronger. Its bark grew thick and its leaves provided shade and shelter for small animals. And every autumn the mighty oak proudly bore its little acorns. 🌰
